In the western Red Mountains lies the Torentine River Valley. Ostensably a part of Dorne, it is isolated from the rest of Dorne by the southern range of the Red Mountains, and from the Reach by the western range. There are only two ways into the Torentine Valley: up the river itself, or through the Huntsman’s Pass, a narrow, treacherous pass through the western range of the Red Mountains. The hardscrabble path runs from just south of Horn Hill in the Reach to emerge into the Torentine Valley north of the river’s western fork, in a high vale known as Barrows Heath.
Overlooking Barrows Heath is a small tower known as Speartip, the seat of House Bernale.
